We opened Carlyles on Derry with the aim of creating a local neighbourhood spot where people would gather to enjoy good food and good company in a relaxed and vibey setting. More than 20 years have gone by and thanks to our dedicated team we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished.
Located on the slopes of Table Mountain in the heart of Vredehoek, “Carlyles on Derry” attracts locals and newcomers alike. Established in 2001, Carlyles has been a favourite meeting point for Capetonians for over a decade. Whether it be a quiet after work drink, an intimate dinner or a boisterous celebration of sorts, we cater for all occasions.
Traditionally Italian-themed, Carlyles offers delicious thin-based, oven-baked gourmet pizzas, fresh handmade pasta dishes, world-class scrumptious salads as well as a variety of meat and fish dishes at very affordable prices. We endeavour to use the finest and freshest local and seasonal ingredients available. All our chicken is certified organic free-range and all eggs used are free-range, with vegetables sourced daily.
Comfy couches, a well-stocked, fully licensed bar showing live sport, an intimate candlelit dining area, as well a heated veranda area, all lend to the charming laid back atmosphere that typify the restaurant and city it inhabits.
